A Greener Festival
The Rimouski International Youth Cinema Festival is organized by the Carrousel international du Film de Rimouski (CIFR), a cultural business created in 1983.The CIFR has adopted ecologically responsible practices and presents here the actions undertaken all through the year to make the Festival respectful of the environment. Here are some of the initiatives taken:
The use of reusable coffee cups | The introduction of reusable dishes and recyclable glasses at the Café Zoom Hydro-Québec | The use of water jugs instead of individual plastic water bottles | Replacement of office printers with ones offering recto-verso printing | Bicycles provided to interns | Redistribution of food surpluses to community groups (Moisson Rimouski-Neigette and Auberge du coeur Le Transit) | Recycling bins on Festival sites | Low emission vehicles as shuttles | The reuse and recuperation of paper | Use of local suppliers | Reuse of paper during the preparation of the Festival
