Camério Awards

The Camério AWARDs

Wishing to recognize films of outstanding quality, the Carrousel created the Camério prize in 1987. It was christened in honour of the camera character in Radio-Canada’s popular children’s TV show, Bobino. In 1992, the prize was transformed into a magnificent bronze statuette, designed by Mireille Desgagnés and forged by Louis Gagné, an artist from Rimouski. Many categories have been added over the years; presently, eight Camérios are awarded by the local and international juries. The Camérios travel around the world and have become the Festival’s prestigious ambassadors.
